Even the Army requires girls to do a minimum number of pushups as a requirement of basic fitness. This isn't a "girl" thing but an attitude of what fitness is requried to be an athlete.

I disagree. Durant's inability to lift 185 had a lot to do with his long arms which put him at a mechanical disadvantage (has to do more work to lift the same amount of weight) and his relative physical immaturity. Durant worked with one of the top strength coaches in the country and has a notoriously great work ethic. Despite not lifting 185, he could do a push-up.

The female player is physically mature. She is not noted for her work ethic. But, more important, the point was not the inability to do a push-up.

The point is a player using the "I'm a girl" excuse, rather than working hard to complete a simple task. I don't care whether it is lifting weights, doing push-ups, running, making a certain number of shots, etc. The point is the excuse making and using "being a girl" as an excuse for a poor athletic performance.

This particular girl's inability to do pushups is about as relevant as Kevin Durant's inability to bench press 185.
