Basketball Training Workout #11

I’ve been getting some emails from players regarding their struggles.

For whatever reason, they feel they aren’t catching on and messing up all of the drills in the workouts.

I’m going to be completely honest with you… the players in the video have been doing these drills for months (some even years) so it’s pretty much second nature to them now.

But when they first started, they messed up all the time.

I started out with a large group of players that all trained together (about 20 players) at the beginning of the year. And now I’m down to 9 players (it’s about nine months later).

Now these nine players have seen monster growth in their game performance and skills, but they messed doing the drills in the beginning like everyone else. The only difference is they didn’t get down on themselves.

When they messed up, they just slowed down performing the drill and made sure to get the technique down before going at game speed.

So, don’t be too hard on yourself. Slow down and focus on proper technique before going at game speed. And know that even the best players miss shots and mess up when their training. That’s the whole point… mess up and perfect your game in training so that when you play in your real games, you perform your best without even thinking about it.
